Wow, what complete garbage. The gimmick is annoying, distracting and literally nauseating. The dialogue sounds like it was written by a deep fifteen-year-old. The plot is RI DIC U LOUS! Seriously, when those guys went out the window, I almost laughed my drink out of my nose, so I guess I was entertained for a minute. I actually hated every character in this movie so much, and I was really hoping this ghost would kill all of them.
Really not as bad as I expected. This cast is so likable (minus that property brother) that I really wish they were in a better movie. It over-explains itself several times, getting way too talky. There's nothing new here, but there are a few fun moments. Romantically pairing Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose was a weird choice, and as much as I want him to be successful, this is really not the right role for him.
I feel like this is the type of thing that gives arthouse a bad rep. I was actually pretty excited to get to watch this as it had piqued my interest some time ago, and it seemed really interesting. I don't know really what was intentional and what wasn't, but none of it comes across very well. Some astronauts crash, so naturally they start adorning themselves with tribal costumes and decorations on the double. Everyone is kind of flailing around…
Wow! I loved this movie so much more than I expected to. The composition of nearly every shot is just gorgeous. The plotting is brilliant.
I thought the scene where they argue the story of Orpheus and Eurydice followed by the bonfire/singing and the cave couldn't have been more perfect. How appropriate that Marianne's revelation/surrender is framed with one of the most stark representations of the oppression of women, abortion.
I am always vastly more impressed with restraint than melodrama,…
