It started off really feeling like a filmmaker’s first film, right out of film school with it’s brutally obvious ADR, first draft dialogue, and clunky stylistic color…. But then, but then! I found myself immersed and appreciative of the blocks of color, the simplistic words, and the obvious shot composition & cuts on dialogue. Out loud laughs, some shocked & curious words, and soft tears rolling down my cheeks in a theater all to myself made for a magical evening with this funny little movie that really took its time to pull me in and satisfy me wholly and completely
Beautifully shot & acted, the simple sweetness and pacing. Didn’t even mind that they didn’t end up together cause i was satisfied by a good story and watch. The language blended right into itself and the whole thing felt simply, slightly poetic. But man oh man her husband was a drip…gotta love how she dealt with it though—a quote worth keeping for those jealous types, in fact it was a film filled with quotes worth keeping.
