not me finally googling nonce after watching 30m of the dad losing his shit over it

watched again, this time with pam. and this film is just 🤌🤌🤌!!  comedic inflections, suspense, beauty and mystery. a very graceful and methodical film that surprises and shocks and embodies itself wholly.

7 pockets of beauty in this world, glimmering, caught on celluloid and digital pixels. so lovely to see this film. wild in friendship and the spirit of journeying together, reveling in spaces that hold memory and botanical wonders. also striking was mark brown’s written statement to the audience, here is the last half: 

there is nothing wrong with being humble, yet there is everything wrong with being egotistical. ask not what the world can do for you, but what you can do for the world. generosity pays, but meanness has to be paid for. be full of light, like plants.  

3x adjectives for zone of interest are sonic, biting, and exacting. we never see over that wall, but we hear it. the film is chilling in that the evil is real, though seeing characters who don’t realize their wickedness is what makes it all the more crisply strange. like white sheets on a clothing line. so real but almost not, unflinchingly bright; a window into somewhere else almost unplaceable, but in their environment. squarely there and not going anywhere until they’re folded up, and tucked away by time.
