Creature design, imaginatively, and sfx are off the charts. Won’t say much about the political commentary in this because I’m not at all familiar with the history of Argentinian politics, but I feel that this film faces the same dilemma that Jordan peele faced while deciding on an ending for Get Out, which is whether to write a nihilistic ending that feels true or a hopeful ending that feels imaginative. Having our lone survivor being a member of the Argentinian state forces feels nihilistic but potentially truer to life. Overall this was a crazy but enjoyable watch.

I think this film really shines in its sfx. The plant movement looks so cool and I actually giggled with glee during the Communion scene because WOW that shit was awesome!!!
