It’s really no surprise that I loved The Fabelmans. I've been let down by so many films for my Settler Cinema class, and for a moment I thought this might just break the streak. The film within a film context provided the opportunity to turn the white savior trope on its head, but instead the film itself ended up perpetrating it.
