The Boy and the Heron 2023
Pros : Hayao Miyazaki doing his thang like always. Visually I would put it up there with the likes of Ponyo and Spirited Away.
Cons : The downside is I think he tried to juggle too many themes or messages at once, whilst still trying to keep the normal Studio Ghibli pacing. This made the ending feel very rushed, trying to explain away 1hr30 worth of beautiful mysterious world building into a brief 30min ending. :/

Its not just that I hate superhero films but this is a bad film.
The story is so poorly written. The loopholes, plot armour and mental gymnastics that Christopher Nolan expects us to jump through in order to enjoy this film is too much. For a film and director that takes itself so seriously, it's hard to view the film in the same light.
