Mulholland Drive 2001
kind of had a whole different experience on the rewatch here.
not that it changed my opinion that much on the movie! it’s just that upon first viewing the more suspenseful elements got me a lot more than this time so i just wasn’t as like on the edge of my seat as before.
it’s definitely still the most thoughtful film i can think of! since watching this for the first time and right now, i’m just turning sequences over…

Really really great!!!!
This is definitely more proto-Lynch at least compared to what I’ve come to like with what became the work he did in the latter part of his career. Just doesn’t have as much weird surreal stuff going on but that’s not a bad thing!!! It’s still a very very nice narrative and I can see this being a fav of someone who likes more grounded film.
I guess what I really liked were the costumes mostly, everyone…
