  The point in the Hellraiser franchise where its  identity became lost and pinhead truly became a pinhead. Pinhead feels like his DBD version here with him acting like a typical slasher villain.   Jeffry Combs continues to be excellent as Herbert West and his character feels appropriately more experienced. Some of the new ideas with the Re-Animator serum were interesting as was the new setting but this was a big step down from the previous films.   Wasn’t the biggest fan of the wraparound segments here and felt that it was the weakest part of this film. Not bad per se but not that good either mainly due to the lighting and shots. Some solid horror here such as with the first short and the lack of answers it provides. The hallway area for the first short was very eerie and the 2008 camera quality added to that feeling.
