    [THE FINAL CUT]
    I watched the Director's cut first and it is definitely inferior.

    Wuthering Heights

    *This is the worst casting I have ever seen.*

    As a resident of Yorkshire I am not convinced two Australian actors can pull off the accent but it's not impossible. What really bugs me is this;

    How can a 35 convincingly play a 16-19 year old?
    How can actors with visually obvious cosmetic surgery play characters from the late 1700s?
    HOW CAN A WHITE ACTOR PLAY A "DARK-SKINNED (ROMANI)" MAN?

    I try my best not to be cynical about films…

    There’s no heterosexual explanation for this.

    As much as I like Star Trek: The Motion Picture this sequel seems to go above and beyond it. I love how the characters are written, especially Bones, Kirk and Spock as they truly recapture the original series. This was really fun throughout and moving towards the end.

    Doctor Who: The Church on Ruby Road

    ★★

    The pacing was really weird.

    Whilst it was an enjoyable episode, our protagonists spent a lot of time stood reacting whilst action was happening especially our new companion Ruby Sunday.

    The entire driving force of the plot is to keep the infant safe however the severity often seems underplayed. With little sense of danger it can be hard to take the story seriously and without Gatwa’s charismatic performance I wouldn’t be interested in this episode remotely.

    On a positive the dialogue is more fluent and natural than the show has been for a while.
