    Talk to Me

I loved every second of it despite how gnarly some scenes were. I agree that this film perfectly captures the feeling of loneliness, in this day and age, and how people are willing to go through lengths just to be noticed, especially since it hurts to be ignored.

The opening scene was shot in a way that it flawlessly set the tone of the film. Even though logic and reason were wonky at times, all of the characters were given the…

Entering the film with a deliberate lack of information, I skipped trailers and embraced the unknown. However, as the credits rolled, I was left disappointed and confused. The enchanting magic I've felt with Miyazaki's creations was conspicuously absent.

Nonetheless, I'm grateful to have witnessed the first Miyazaki film to grace our country's theaters, and perhaps repeated viewings will unveil layers which I've completely missed during this experience.

I have to be honest, that daughter reveal completely took me out, was not prepared at all!

Went in blind and had a pretty good time. Some things definitely happened out of convenience, but it was entertaining enough that I didn’t really mind. Not perfect, but fun while it lasted.

    ★★★★½

Found this gem while choosing what to watch with less than 90 minutes.

Watching Petite Maman feels like receiving a tender and warm embrace. The film’s ability to evoke a sense of comfort is unparalleled. It captures the essence of fleeting moments, leaving you with a profound appreciation for the simplicity and beauty inherent in the innocence of childhood.

I was transported to a realm where the embrace of childhood innocence is not only observed but deeply felt, creating an emotional resonance that lingers long after the credits roll.

Despite its seemingly sinister title and brief premise, Monster defied my expectations at every turn. While I thought I had it all figured out, the narrative consistently surprised me. The way it all comes together in the end is masterfully executed, though I'm left with lingering questions, perhaps to be unraveled with a rewatch.

Moreover, the film served as an excellent introduction to Hirokazu Kore-eda. The experience was both unexpected and enriching, leaving me eager to explore more of his work.
