when he is like “in my own home I don’t feel safe” ooof how damning. couldn’t take my eyes off the screen while watching this. have watched this and ‘im still here’ in quick succession and both grapple with big historical events through the eyes of a family, both done v differently but im hooked by the concept

oh man this was heart wrenching, i don’t think i’ve ever seen a family portrayed so beautifully before, you really fall for them, they really love each other which makes the next two hours absolutely devastating. Fernanda Torres’ performance is amazing, her character man, when she is looking off in the ice cream shop HEARTBREAKING as the children slowly start to realise what happened HEARTBREAKING when the kids grow up and talk about the moment they realised what had happened…
