  Edge of Tomorrow went from being "eh" (based on my exposure to it from its trailers) to being THE summer movie of 2014 for me. Not only is it a deftly-paced, thrilling science-fiction blockbuster, it also has zero chance of a sequel (a remarkable feat in 2014; there's not even a post-credits stinger), keeps its romantic subplot mercifully brief, and is the first film I've seen that mimic the structure of a videogame to immense satisfaction.   Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah 1991

  My first Heisei-era Godzilla film; I loved it! It's a really fun combination of campy sci-fi, social undertones (the WWII stuff), and general lovable Godzilla bombast ("is he mankind's savior or destruction?"). I can't wait to see more...I think this era will end up being my favorite of Godzilla's history, by far.
