  i'm ashamed to say that despite my love of film history, the only film from pre-code hollywood i had ever seen was Frankenstein, and as good as that film is, it truly does not scratch the surface of what made pre-code cinema so electrifying. you can imagine my delight at discovering Baby Face, which is significantly more raunchy and more progressive than i expected.
