Incredible. Mystifying. Pure genius in my opinion. Every shot is breathtaking and each scene more shocking and unique than the last. I went into the film with my concerns of Emma Stone in a serious, British, eighteenth century role, yet was pleasantly surprised by her performance.

River Phoenix gives a stunning performance along side MarthaPlimpton. A harrowing coming of age film, highlighting the experience of stepping away from childhood (parents) and moving into your own (education;love;art expression). A literal MUST SEE.
