    I can’t believe there aren’t more people absolutely obsessed with this. Clever narrative structure, super slick and stylish directing that just GOES for it, and such a compelling character web.

    And it all informs one another! This framing structure could only work through the conduit of tennis. Tennis as the subject matter is enhanced by the character dynamics and motivations. The character web requires this narrative framing device to retain its emotional momentum. It’s a circle!! A circle propped up further by inventive, kinetic, propulsive filmmaking.

    (+ the best scene featuring a churro probably ever)
