Normal people but not as good. 80% of the show was dialogue, but I still enjoyed. I love shows that track two characters’ evolving relationship over time (normal people, one day, etc.).
The acting was insanely good - Oscar Isaac & Jessica Chastain are so so good, and their chemistry is undeniable.
I watched this because I saw a TikTok edit showing the movie’s 1930s England aesthetic with 'Apocalypse' playing in the background. Turns out, the TikTok showed the only happy 19 seconds of the entire movie.
Saoirse Ronan was basically Joe Marge but younger and the worst.
Crime and legal thrillers are usually better as shows (Presumed Innocent is a great example of this). There’s so much happening that I was laughing by the end, but I was still hooked, especially in the second half. Nothing will top Defending Jacob or Presumed Innocent, but I still enjoyed this. Extra 1/2 for Rosamund Pike because she’s awesome.
