Blue Velvet 1986
Mulholland Drive but for straight people (and people who need some semblance of a linear plot).
Jokes aside, I really liked this! (And I don’t think it’s the same as Mulholland Drive.) It was so much fun to watch this in a sold out theater! We laughed, we gasped, we gawked. Definitely going to keep working my way through David Lynch’s work!

Mulholland Drive 2001
This was my first David Lynch movie, and WOW what a watch! Not me being SO INVESTED in the mystery and then getting the carpet yoinked out from under me!!!!!
Still, I loved it! And it was so fun to discuss afterwards with friends. And I guess I really do appreciate that Lynch refused to say “this is what this movie means” (despite being a gal who usually wants ANSWERS) because it really was so fun to hypothesize and talk things over with friends.

The Brutalist 2024
👍🏻:
*Brody and Pearce’s performances
*How everything looked
*The pacing (surprisingly very good for a movie this long) and the tension and dread that hummed throughout
*The funny moments (which there were more of than I expected!)
*The score👎🏻:
*How heavy handed and unsubtle it was at times
*For all the (genuinely) BIG IMPORTANT THEMES it attempts to take on, a lot of it rang sort of hollow for me. I’m not sure what Corbet really wanted to do…Translated from by -
Hundreds of Beavers 2022
Yes I watched it twice within like a week and NO I did not regret it!!!!! This movie is so silly and wonderful and I am glad I got to experience it with even more friends this time. 😌
