  this series showcases many of the modern problems in american christian culture very accurately. it explores the complexities of different beliefs and how they often contradict with people’s personalities and core values, prompting religious people to behave in ways that they usually wouldn’t. obviously, father paul is the main example of this but it’s also well done in characters like riley’s and leeza’s parents. i also loved the example of indoctrination (of Ali)  and how being particularly vulnerable to it…
