This is everything I want in a movie—dreamy, gorgeous cinematography, eye-catching color schemes, minimal action, even less dialogue, and layers of subtle messages and rich context to unpack. Most importantly, it explores complex characters and their intertwined yet separate micro-universes.
At one point, I thought Valentine and the young judge might find solace in each other, but that would’ve been a little too Wong Kar-wai.
