i’ve got a penchant for films where young lovers have to separate at the end. or stories about sisters. or anything with florence pugh.

i adored this movie when i was a child and i adore it now. the songs, the acting, the old fashioned film, the historical true storyline. also i want christopher plummer please. so much of this is engrained in my brain. ugh i ADORE.

this series crept into through my skin and lodged itself in my bones.
the filming, the writing, the acting, the casting, the concept was all conceived and made with truth, humanity and nuance at its heart. the most brilliant naturalism, so real it hurts.
i think the world needs this series, and i think we will all remember this for a long, long time.

ok so, i actually enjoyed timothée chalamet in this movie, i kind of forgot it was him. it was an enjoyable watch, and i’ve learned what a cunty icon joan baez is, but i probably wouldn’t watch it again. i didn’t learn much or love much, but it was fun.

beautiful aesthetics, cinematography, i loved the exploration of the immigrant experience. however...

this movie is the most man-loving movie i have ever seen. every ounce of respect, admiration, honour, reverence or adoration is reserved solely for the brutally masculine. female characters are used as means to an end in every instance, there is no growth, depth or voice given to them. and the men in the movie are so deeply misogynistic for seemingly no reason? there is no definition or grounding as to why this movie is so woman-hating. what the fuck was the point? i genuinely think i've missed the point.
