my favorite type of love story because there’s so. much. yearning. i still think about the dad’s final dialogue to elio often. overall, i adore the way elio ungracefully yet sweetly experienced the whole relationship which felt deeply genuine as a viewer

i liked this better than the first. but again, there’s something about the way they spoke to each other that deromanticized their relationship to me a bit. her song & the ending was my favorite part - like they finally were allowing themselves to feel in real time rather than express hypothetically

very cute but found the characters a tad annoying. it was like they met and spewed spiritual tangents at each other for 24 hours. still had some great lines though like, “the answer must be in the attempt”. but again i find it hard to believe two 20-somethings having that much self-actualized discourse when the whole point is that neither of them don’t know what the hell they’re doing
