I definitely thought this was going to be an A24-esque film about AI replacing human companionship and/or the way that women are treated as objects, but it was more like an action-comedy where technology was just a comedic device. I don’t think that means the movie was bad, I just wasn’t expecting it and therefore didn’t really enjoy it. Also the ending was about thirty minutes too long - by the time it finally did end I honestly did not care who lived or died because I was that uninvested. #whatevs
Dragged a bit at times, but I get that it was trying to emphasize the monotony of everyday life. I thought it was very bittersweet, and enjoyed the cinematography a lot — especially the use of light and the black and white dream sequences. Wish the niece was in it for longer, she brought a real energy to it that was missing otherwise.
