Did I love this movie? No. But I love Anthony Mackie enough to have suspended my disbelief. Also the last scene where he gives his speech about earning a seat at the table was maybe my favorite part.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023
This film surpassed any expectation I had coming in. I was worried all the build up would inevitably lead to disappointment, but I could not have been more wrong.
This film succeeded in what countless others have tried (and failed); seamless weaving between characters, plot lines, and most importantly- universes. The crossovers and cameos felt inspired instead of cheap and gimmicky.
I was very impressed with the complexity of Miles and Gwen, and how they each continued to develop their own path while staying connected on a parallel journey.
This experience was everything and more! Here’s to part 2 :)

This movie was so intricately woven and it honestly blew my mind. I was profoundly disturbed by the vigilante shit of hugh jackman but was so impressed with how Villanueva paced the film that I can move past it.
Was I scared during 95% of this movie?
Yes.
