Starts off really strong with unique concept and competent acting. Goes off into generic B movie action by the end, and a bit uncomfortable that they decide to give the peodophile kidnapper character a redemptiom arc. Still an enjoyable dystopian romp though.

State Funeral 2019
The thought of a three hour film compiled of long, slow shots with no narration or context made me very nervous, but its within this snail-like pace that the beauty and intimacy lies. The horrors of life in Stalin era USSR are left unquestioned, and unhighlighted, merely simmering in the background. This allows the faces of the subjects to take the foreground, hinting at their stories through subtle glances at the camera: some with intrigue, some with sadness, some with fear, and some with defiance.
