Rebecca 1940
"I never see you at the club” well I never see you at the ugc retrospectives every week
Daphné du Maurier’s Rebecca is one of my favourite books ever and although I’ve never watched an adaptation that lives up to what I see in my head when I read it, Hitchcock’s version is certainly the best try there is. Who else to tackle a story about ghosts that are only inside your head but are still very much real ?

Pulp Fiction 1994
« That’s when you know you found somebody really special. When you can just shut the fuck up for a minute and comfortably share a silence. »

The Other Boleyn Girl 2008
yep. still makes me soooo mad after all these years that they made her into a whiny cruel manipulator and represented him as a tool. I’ll never support the “she had it coming” narrative when it comes to Anne Boleyn. Even WORSE when they actually engage with the false accusations of incest with her brother ??
still serves to remind us of the power of a cockblock over the course of history i guess
