  really excellent character work. i think everyone has been a david or a benji (probably both) at different times in their life and i thought the story slowly unraveled assumptions you might make really well. also raised some questions about travel and tourism and connection that i always find interesting, although i wish the ending had come together a little more for me (but maybe that was kind of the point, because some stories just don’t have resolutions and even if you are changed things can go on the same way). overall though really loved it.

  i laughed a lot! i cried a little. i really loved this one!

  i appreciate when a third act breakup is earned and when characters have to grow in order to find their way back to each other. i also appreciate how this movie subverted my expectations— on the surface, alice seems to be the disaster and ben is the perfect guy, but underneath that alice is actually very wise and self-aware while ben has a lot to learn! and…
