if this movie had an extra hour of runtime to resolve its plot points and give us more character moments it would be a 5, instead it unfortunately struggles to balance the scopes of its third act a bit.

i feel so gaslit by this movie and the hype i feel insane. also so over satanism being used as a blanket to cover plot holes, we’re past the 80s and i think we all have a more nuanced perspective on religion now that “ooh the devil” isn’t gonna cut it.
i could be wrong but i feel like there’s a much betrer movie somewhere in there that allegorically explores a parent’s desire to protect their daughters from growing up…

Nosferatu 2024
It was a very thoughtful retelling of the original story (and all of it’s copyright infringement similarities to Dracula), but I was missing the transformational element for the modern audience that Eggers infuses into all of his other work.
What does HE have to say about the story of Nosferatu? The institution of marriage? Trauma? Greed? ANYTHING??? Apparently not a lot.
