The Truman Show 1998
I love love love showing people the true excellence of Jim Carrey. His performance in this film is so iconic and meaningful and everything about it just tells me he was the perfect person to cast for this film. I am generally quite partial to dystopian plot lines, specifically when it comes to world building. The way the world building is sprinkled into the plot so naturally without the need for awkward expositional dialogue is chefs kiss. Robert was a big fan, and as this was one of the first films I showed him the bar was set quite high.
