As much as some of us try to forget, our childhoods follow us and this film explores that in a way that feels so honest. It’s comforting to think that our obsessions protect us and keep us alive, whether it’s sex or aliens or getting out of your town at all costs, these characters are allowed to follow their obsessions, some of them lead somewhere, others almost kill them. But in the end they find a truth that they need to hear even if it isn’t what they wanted.
