It’s very difficult to describe just how much this movie fucks. I know, very film bro of me, but this movie is genuinely fantastic down to its bones. Christopher Nolan you genius. I notoriously love a “superhero” movie that daylights as a crime thriller. (One would think I’m just Micheal Caine movie jumping at this point).
Nolan’s genius is in the understanding of every character. You don’t just understand the joker through his madness, you beat yourself up over it.…
The themes are muddy and all over the place, but on the basis of pure fucking vibes, I’ll allow it ☺️
Wow. One of my most anticipated movies of the year and it did not disappoint.
There’s a moment in the first act where Mikey’s expression changes ever so slightly that makes you realize just how much she genuinely is falling for Ivan. And that moment is one of the more heartbreaking ones looking back as the credits roll. How she truly felt seen by him, and he still only saw her as a fun “American” time.
