This movie uses so many types of objects, motifs, and imagery to represent Julie's search for her identity while becoming usurped in an abusive relationship. However, the cinematography is the only aspect of the film that doesn't keep you at arm's length, which can feel confusing but also puts us straight into Julie's narrative.

I didn't find the film engaging, as it is very bare, but it definitely leaves room for a lot of interesting analysis.

The depiction of the rage that sprouts from a self that can never be truly expressed was amazing, and this movie made me think hard about something that we can all see in ourselves: the different identities we portray to the world.

This movie is honestly heartbreaking, and it left me with one of the best gifts a movie can leave you with-- silence.

I usually can't sit through an hour of dialogue but I can listen to these two talk all day
