  Incredibly creative movie! Didn’t go with every super hero movie trope which was refreshing.  There was also a female comic relief character which you don’t see a lot.  Overall a good balance of serious and light hearted moments and gorgeous special effects.

  Like everyone else in the reviews, I watched for Jenna Ortega. SHE did not disappoint but the movie definitely did.
  Not subtle, I guessed the twist way earlier than was fun, and a lot of the writing felt forced.  The pacing was also far too slow, it wasn’t scary, and the humor didn’t really hit most of the time.

  Hats off to the actors for doing their best with the material they were given.
