Death of a Unicorn 2025
I appreciate that a 24 wants to bring us new and original stuff but they also need to put that stuff in the hands of people who can control a cast as well as light a movie. The scenes at night are borderline almost impossible to see. I do like elements of it, but I think overall it doesn’t work and it will probably be much lower on my A24 overall 2025 list.

Civil War 2024
That’s how you make a fucking movie. If this is truly Alex Garland’s last film, then he went out on about as perfect of a note as one can the most terrifying thing about this film is in someways. It feels like this is more of a prediction than it is fictional story. Not one moment of this movie didn’t grit me and didn’t make me say, absolutely this is cinema at its best.
