there’s so much to say about this movie, i should’ve taken notes.
i absolutely adore this movie til i die. this is also allegedly one of, if not the first movie i legit ever watched. so it holds a very special place in my heart. coming back to it is funny because all of the silly writing and acting shows very prevalent now. however it does, for lack of a better term, go insanely hard most of the time. this movie made me want to climb walls, swing through the city and take down bad guys. honestly wouldn’t be who i am today without this.

i liked it. story was more sweet than irreverent in tone than i imagined. loved rob pattinson and naomi ackie’s performances. most scenes felt like they dragged too long for me. very anti capitalism very reflective on life itself and it was moving. i still had a decent time.

unfortunately this made me sleepy. first film i’ve seen of the french new wave movement which i’ve learned features heavily deemphasized plots, jump cuts and lengthy scenes. this film seems to be a single afternoon in this woman’s life as she gets a health scare. i really appreciate this film that lets us linger with our main character as she wanders almost aimlessly as she processes what’s to come. in that time, we see her thoughts about her place in…

fantastic performances all around. the runtime might seem daring but it was so beautifully crafted that you can’t miss a chance to see this. also in love with the main motif of this film, goosebumps every time i hear it.
thee ending was slightly underwhelming but it set out to accomplish what it laid out. definitely deserving of a run at best picture. just as well as the other nominees i watched this weekend.

i had fun. stupid and funny and i loved that it was that. kinda dragged near the end but still, the whole concept was fun. probably the most unsubtle metaphor for generational trauma, but it still worked for me. I think the part where they were kids was kinda better than the rest. fun and gorey time.
and honestly gotta add the visuals were great very good.
