Not many movies are able to be told over less than a 24 hour time span but still be able to engage audiences in an emotional rollercoaster. I loved the use of metaphors which were thought provoking and unique. A portrayal of drug addiction and particularly the difficulties of being on the supporting side of someone struggling with addiction.
For a movie that had such amazing potential for awareness about a serious topic I was disappointed in the amount of “fluff” in the plot, lack of trigger warnings or a support line and the limited depth of the story line. This movie could have done one thing and done it well but instead decided to run in a million different directions and didn’t hit any of the targets.

The Good Place, rightly so, has been awarded awards for its comedic success as well as Ted Danson being nominated for best actor. Through watching a second time I am continually impressed with how the plot manages to continue despite asking myself multiple times “How is this going to go on for four seasons?”. I believe it manages to keep the watcher entertained and the premise of the show will have you questioning your own moral compass and what it means to be a “good person”.
At times uncomfortable to watch but overall was an easy bingeable show. An interesting personal story from Richard Gadd - however how much is amplified or changed from the truth is uncertain. The actual hero of the show is Jessica Gunning for her portrayal of Martha, she was brilliant.
