Captures both the despair and tranquility of childhood escapism. This is evidenced by the poignant ending sequence, when Antoine flees the observation center. Running away isn’t something unusual for him, in fact it’s common. His living circumstances have always been unfortunate, and the people around him are constantly negligent about his feelings; it’s only natural he would turn out the way he did. Every rebellious scene carries a sensation of peace and freedom, but with an underlying sense of sorrow…
