  the film, of course, is a tribute to the four fundamental factors of life: freedom, beauty, truth, and love. more than this, though, it’s an otherworldly love letter to the most wonderful art: theater, music, and cinema- the infinite medium. moulin rouge, to me, is a new reminder with every shot that cinema’s bounds will never be seen, but we will always search. the limits of cinema are endless, and for that i have three words: come what may.
