Black Is… Black Ain’t 1994
lots of thoughts but i think overall i am thinking about the dialectic of blackness. I wouldn’t trade it for the world but it is also scary and saddening at times. especially now, fuck you trump. But being black comes with so much love and resilience. This film showed that in such a beautiful way. Even though it was made 30+ years ago and features an assortment of ages, almost everything they said still rings true. I am really thankful we watched this in my class African American cinema class and I am excited to talk about it more!!
