Hands down the best film I've seen in 2024, so far. Maybe the best film I've ever seen. This was spectacular. I have no notes. Every shot (except for one kind of) was perfect. I wasn't expecting to be so entranced by a film about tennis, but it's not just tennis is it? It's a relationship.

Hannah Montana: The Movie 2009
Introduced my friend to Hannah Montana with this film. I dunno, it's golden. 10/10 no notes. The love interest was suitably attractive and holds up. 11 year old me thought so too.

Okay so I've seen this twice now, but I'm logging watching it with the girls because that's who I am as a person.

This was actually so much more subpar on the rewatch. Renee Rapp aside (she's actually so perfect as Regina). I find this remake/adaptation/whatever-the-heck-it-is-trying-to-be lacking on almost all levels. I would love to see the Broadway musical but this is all I've got and I spent most of the movie trying to figure out the logistics…

Monkey Man 2024
Monkey Man is kind of like is John Wick were Indian, but I don't really like comparing movies that feature POC to white equivalents so we'll skip over that.
Overall, I enjoyed the film, but found the plot lacking most of the time. It wasn't entirely clear what kid's motivation really was or how he was choosing to let it unfold.
I enjoyed almost all of the visual aspects of the film and the ties between colour in the scenes…
