Truly enjoyed the performances and design of this one. Some really great ideas & themes throughout that were explored, but in some cases, not fully realized. Same with a few of the supporting characters: a few had somewhat interesting backstories, but didn’t really develop and ended up being plot devices and discarded after they move their part of the story forward. I love Anthony Mackie, but this made no sense. Way too much happening and a lot of storylines just fell flat or weren’t touched upon again. Also, the villains could’ve been written way better. Was hoping for more.
Fun movie! The story wasn’t amazing and didn’t really connect at times, but I had an enjoyable experience overall. It was a lot funnier than I expected; quite a few of great comedic moments and punchlines. Also, very well shot and SFX was excellent.
Side note: this movie validated my childhood fear of that damn monkey in Toy Story.
