Salmon Fishing in the Yemen 2011
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this film, wonderfully written and great performances.
Enjoyed the cynical wry humour of the govt/ civil service, with its cold realism contrasting the misty-eyed idealism of Yemen.
This film gets to a core truth that the things in life we care about most cannot be understood in reference to logic, or facts, or statistics; it’s messy, nonsensical and often terrifying, but beautiful.
