"The Curse" and "The Curse 2" are practically the same movie, both split in two. The first two movies in the Ju-on The Curse series have such low budgets that the last 30 minutes of the first movie, The Curse, is the first half hour of this movie, and The Curse 2 has only 40-odd minutes of new footage. This did not bother me at all; I don't think it's really a complete experience without "The Curse" and "The Curse 2". The new footage in The Curse 2 is pretty memorable stuff.

Ju-on: The Curse is by far the scariest of the series. Low budget and low quality looks (Low-fi) work in this movie's favor. It provides a dirty and spooky atmosphere to whatever is happening on the screen. The horrors in the movie are slow and methodical.
