Appreciate the effort to replicate the 70s horror aesthetic but the acting and the script added up to an overall package that just did not appeal to me. DNF after about 35 minutes.

The Lawnmower Man 1992
Watched the director's cut on the Criterion Channel. runtime: 2 hours, 21 minutes. Do not recall enough about the regular cut to spot the alterations. A decent movie but nothing mind-blowing. Was probably more impactful at the time of the release.

I do not know if I am just jaded or if it is because I read the novel some years ago but the movie never really scared me. I loved just about everything else about it, though. The Dutch angles, the cast (especially Pamela Franklin and Roddy McDowall), Final Boy just full-on Vicious Mockery-ing the big bad out of existence. I suppose the soundtrack was a little unsubtle in places but otherwise, great dumb fun movie.
