  insane masterclass. colin farrells' performance is so visceral that it makes me uncomfortable with myself, makes me feel seen in all my unruly irritability, which somehow endears me more to him. 'gay beer' has also been swiftly added into my lexicon.

  mads opening with one of the most casually devastating performances i've seen in a while, man. watching this makes me think of all the things i'm convinced make me more 'myself': uninhibited, free. this idea that we must need some kind of exciter to spur greatness in us. as much devastation it brought, their experiment makes an alluring case...

  i've had a pit in my stomach since i saw a local screening and it has yet to leave me. haunting. the roy orbison cover will never not devastate me. lynch knew the power of dreams, how they can mirror our fragmented desires and greatest fears as another extension of reality. we can dream as a way to defend ourselves, but they will always attest to the darkest truth. since his passing its nearly all i've been able to think about.
