The Great Gatsby 2013

This classic story deserves this film's great acting, set design, cinematography, and iconic scenes. Unfortunately, the editing and song choice significantly affect the experience in the worst way. You can't tell me these guys were partying to Jay-Z songs in the 1920s. This film was ahead of its time in a sense as it feels like it was edited to keep kids with ADHD focused on the screen with its many jumpcuts and abrupted fast-paced soundtrack. I want to love this movie so much more, but just like Gatsby himself, the ethos surrounding it is greater than what's really there.
