Wicked 2024
While perhaps not the best musical adaptation ever as many have claimed it to be, it provided many many moments of laughing, crying, and wonder. Cynthia Erivo left chills in nearly all of her performances, while Ariana Grande absolutely nailed the role of the self-obsessed GUH-linda. I was left a little disappointed by the amount of dialogue and action that would break up the songs, and the movie was probably about 20 minutes too long, but overall it was an absolutely fantastic movie that deserves all of the praise it has been given. I’m eagerly awaiting part two!

In broad strokes, this movie had the making of an amazing movie. The problem is, once you think about basically any of it critically it falls apart. The main character ends up in nearly the exact same place as he started. Stalking is seen as romantic.
