The Pirate Movie 1982
I cannot even begin to describe the love I have for this movie.
It is a genuine absurdist masterpiece, and was so incredibly far ahead of it's time.This film is like if you put 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead', some Brechtian theory, 'The Pirates of Penzance', and the most camp 80s thing you can think of in a blender - and it came out beautifully.

Dull, predictable, formulaic - maybe the biggest disappointment I've ever experienced when it cinema.
None of the characters get any sort of development except for Neil (which is telling bc he's the only name I can remember but I'm still only like 50% sure on that and I don't care enough to google it), and so of course the kid's not going to make it - you can tell as soon as he starts talking.
