Visually captivating, but its length and pacing mixed in with some excruciating dialogue makes sitting down for it laborious. The plot is thread-bare and irrelevant: the science-fiction angle of the original novel is relegated to being implied through expository dialogue, and the journey of the characters is itself a MacGuffin.
