The Old Oak 2023
A very touching movie that awakens deep emotions. The world absolutely needed such a movie, given the rising tide of xenophobia. The only downside of this movie is that it lacked a sense of character growth for the Syrian members of the community, as it did for the English ones. If it involved some context on the hardships Syrians faced while getting used to their new environment, and showed how they ended up calling this new place their home, it would have been a more realistic and stronger movie.
