This is the only movie I've ever walked out of. It felt like staying there was a waste of time, and I had nothing I had to do for the rest of the day. The plot is impossible to follow, concepts are introduced with no context or background. There is no "so then," just poorly connected scenes strung together. The character development is terrible, seemingly key characters are introduced without any explanation for who they are or what they do.…

This a really nihilistic coming of age movie that doesn't inspire much hope. It doesn't really try to either bar a couple of scenes that feel a bit cliche, but then again it is a coming of age movie so a few transgressions are excusable.
Although not every character was written as well as the next I liked how every one got their own unique yet parallel conclusion. I enjoyed Aoki and kimuras the most.
